Saw this as I was leaving the grocery store. He was leaving the same time I was, looked to be around 18 and almost immediately jumped on my “you drive a Ferrari and probably drive it exclusively to and from the mall/grocery store, I hate you, and I’m jealous” list.
I’m going back to eating my freaking ramen...

I have to be honest, I don’t even know which model this is, but it looks - underwhelming? Oddly cheap looking? Didn’t Ferarris used to be exciting?

Because I said so. Problem with that? Ain’t care, my opinion, don’t like it? Still not caring. I’m damn well allowed to be livid and bitter towards others fortunes if I want to be.

Best of luck with that, I’m sure it will take you places.

There’s a rather specific demographic that this applies to. Here at Purdue I’ve seen (owned by people younger than 23):
Ferrari 458 (2 of them actually)
Mclaren MP4-12C (2 of these as well)
New Viper GT
Porsche GT3
Aston Martin Vantage
Besides dozens of Maseratis, Audis, BMWs, GTRs, Corvetts, Camaros, Mustangs, etc.
I do know that the owner of one of the 458s sold it and got a Bentley Continental GT instead.

It looks like a 458 to me.

I don’t even care anymore. Why you do is beyond me. You’re probably the same person defeding the Veyron/Chiron on the FP because no peasants one can ever afford one in their lifetime. Having fun with that?

that’s just goofy... even if you had a billion dollars who parks a brand new exotic in a college campus parking lot? Get a nice STI or something and bank the leftover $200,000 for a rainy day.

Bruh you need to chillll..... You’ve been so angry all night, just back away from the computer and breathe for a little while.

If you have the money enjoy it! Can’t take it with you, yeah might not be the best car for the job at hand, but that’s kinda the point.
... Oh wait he's 18 and it's probably not his money? Yeah get an sti ( not the Subaru kind either )
![]() 09/02/2015 at 00:44 |

When they’re young and have money, you think they care enough about their car to do such a thing and actually walk further to where they need to go? HA
![]() 09/02/2015 at 01:14 |

you know, if I had the money for a 458 at 18, I’d be a happy man.
I wouldn’t buy a 458, because I think that it’s an ostentatious car; and will go buy a nice set of: E93 M3; E63 AMG and a 997 Carerra S; accompanied by a nice condo, and a garage for the cars

Holy hell bro, calm down. It's just a car. All you have to do is work hard and you too can own one.

Most exotics are completely underwhelming in person, because you find out they are built just as cheaply as the typical Chevrolet Malibu but with slightly fancier-feeling materials. The bodywork is wholly unimpressive.
The wheels and engines are where most of the “niiiiiiiiiiice” come into play (dem carbon-fiber wheels on the F-Type, hnnnng).
Katie’s Cars & Coffee just doesn’t get me excited anymore.

> Was the college Corvette driver
> Was the college Corvette driver who swapped to a different Corvette senior year
Granted, the first one was my dad’s, but the second one is mine. I could have bought a new lower-end Fiesta or my dream car...the choice was obvious.

Obviously America isn’t so much the land of opportunity as it once was, but I firmly believe that if you want something bad enough (e.g. work promotion, big house, Ferrari sports car), you can have it with hard work and dedication. Definitely some self discipline as well. You have to know how and when to spend your money and what you’d have to cut back on in order to maintain the money needed for such a purchase. Depending on an individuals financial status is whether or not it will be an easy or hard task. If someone wants a Ferrari because some college kid has one, all they have to do is sit down and figure out a budget. It may take that person ten or more years, but think about how happy that person would be when they got it? I know that when I get my R8, regardless of age, I will be over the moon happy.

True, corvettes, arent up in the same level as a 458 or MP4-12C. I actually picked up a Fiesta ST this summer while working for Ford. But most of what I see around are the new C7s and a couple of C6 Z06s

I don’t believe I was, I did a little work with the electric SAE team last year. Working for grad school has me tied up 20+ hours a week in a shop. Sometimes helping FSAE on some stuff haha

I’m gonna cut you slack here, because looking at your other posts it seems you’re going through a rough time. Something specific wrong?

You have two Porsches and a brand new hot hatch.

You need to relax man, unless something is actually wrong with you. These other posters are doing nothing to provoke such venom-laden responses form you.
Are you OK? If no, you need to get some help. We all go through rough times and we all need to deal with out shit in our own ways, but you really shouldn’t be acting out like this against other members
Some people can afford nice things. Look at you with your 2 Porkers and your FoST.
So please, help me understand what your deal is. We all moderators have noticed something is up with you so that’s why I’m asking you here now

Honestly, I’m not myself right now nor have I been for the past week, or even since my summer ended. Positives are there but the negatives are ruining everything and I can’t change the worst ones. Everything is just pure emotionless depression with me right now.
You know I would have normally avoided comments that I saw as being smartass-like, but I just haven’t been able to do that as of recently either. I have no way of dealing with the shit or bullshit I have right now. And I have no one to really turn to in real life because no one can seemingly understand; Then again, I don’t think anyone would here, so you have me there.
And lets be honest, my two porkers and FoST? You mean my one Porker and parent co-signed FoST, beacause it’s not all mine and you and everyone else knows it.
I’m a mental wreck right now.

RE the cars’ ownerships: that’s just specifics
Anyway, find a shrink...for real man. It’s not healthy and I would hate to hear of something bad happening to you. Sorry to hear it’s not easy but you have to be strong for yourself. You can do it

I mean, it's just a car. I take care of my cars but I wouldn't park out of the way to try and protect it. If it gets dinged or scratched it can be fixed.
